There is one main issue with using an aoe driver on the storage initiator when
the driver is older than 2.6-6.

The drivers before 2.6-6 assume that once an ATA over Ethernet target
(say e8.0 --- the aoe device with major address 8 and minor address 0)
is detected with some MAC address "A", then seeing any other
major/minor address with MAC address "A" means something is wrong.

You can still use these old drivers. Just be aware that the driver
will be confused if it sees more than one vblade with the same MAC
address. If you want to export a new major/minor address from the
same host, it's necessary to reload an old aoe driver.
